Will the Real Nutritionist Please Stand Up?

A true professional nutritionist, also known as a clinical nutritionist, will have a high school degree, at least a Bachelor's degree (hopefully in health science, biology, chemistry or physical education), optionally a Master's degree within areas related to nutrition, biology or physiology—maybe an R.D. (Registered Dietitian)—and either an M.D., D.O., D.C., D.D.S. or N.D. and/or some type of Ph.D.'s (although a Ph.D. cannot legally treat a patient) with some specialization in nutrition. A clinical nutritionist will have had thousands of hours of basic and clinical sciences including every knowledge parameter from cadaver dissection to treating diet-related illnesses in a clinical environment. Such professionals vigorously subscribe to the tenets of orthomolecuiai molecular, quantum, and functional medicine along with anti-aging medicine. They are addressed as "Doctor."

A novice nutritionist, in contrast, falls short of these criteria and cannot possibly understand enough about the human body's inner workings and the clinical application of precise nutritional science protocol to optimize the body's functions. Neither do they have the license nor the proper tools to treat patients nutritionally or legally— so watch out!

The point here is that the novice nutritionist, because of a lack of educational and clinical background, is prone to duplicate the one-size-fits-all mindset without understanding the concept of biochemical individuality.

Furthermore, the novice nutritionist usually has an even more profound ego than the pseudo-nutritionist does because he or she really "knows it all." (Just ask one!)

I must say that doctors are largely to blame for the overabundance of pseudo- and novice nutritionists among the public. if every doctor paid more attention to the role of applied nutrition in wellness, there would be fewer of these unqualified people advising us. Sadly, most consumers don't know just how much further a tried-and-true, nutrition-oriented M.D., D.O., D.C., D.D.S., N.D., or Ph.D. can take them towards perfect health, as opposed to the attempts at help offered by novice and pseudo-nutritionists.

Clinical nutritionists who practice Metabolic Typing and Profiling5 using proven biochemical individuality differentiations, represent the most supreme heights within the field of professional nutritionists. They routinely will use "pure" body typing science combined with the specialized analysis of blood, urine, saliva, hair, and fecal samples to precisely determine your body's nutrient needs, and will be able to fully customize diet and supplements specific to these measured needs.
