Proper Rest

I suggest that we always go to sleep on an empty stomach. The body uses the time that we sleep to perform routine maintenance. Our liver must process countless amounts of dead cells and hormones that are constantly being replaced. ( The liver must also deal with all the chemicals that we breath in, absorb through our skin, and consume daily.) If we eat before bed, the liver must process the food that we have just eaten and maintenance functions must wait. This may mean longer sleep time is required to feel well rested.
If you feel hungry before bed, try drinking a tall glass of water. The body will sometimes send hunger pangs when dehydrated, and a glass of water may be the fix.
Going to sleep on an empty stomach can go a long way toward waking up feeling refreshed in the morning.
